Bathroom renovation with rain shower and double sink in Amsterdam

Demolition & preparation

Selective dismantling provided a clean basis:

• Removing existing equipment and old wall and floor tiles.
  
  
• Removal of plaster/board layers (7 m²) where innovation was needed.
  
  
• Two cabinet doors removed to be able to rearrange the closet zone.
  
  
• Wallpaper removed (11 m²) on adjacent walls.

Debris removal and mobilization have been carried out in phases to keep the apartment accessible and dust-free.

Structural work & walls

To optimize the cabinet zone and limit noise transmission, we built soundproof interior walls with insulation (5 m²) —both for the new cabinet and infill at the location of the removed doors. Subsequently, we installed new drywall (5 m²) on walls/ceiling where necessary. The interior door frame in the bathroom has been replaced by a wooden frame and painted in color.

Waterproofing & tiling

The wet zone is completely watertight: liquid/seal systems on the floor and walls (27 m²), with attention to corners, penetrations and connections.

• Floor tiles (5 m²) with functional slope to the shower drain.
  
  
• Wall tiles (22 m²) tightly aligned, with appropriate profiles on outer corners for a neat, durable edge finish.

Sanitary & installations

• Rain shower with glass shower enclosure and integrated drain, minimally attached for light and spaciousness.
  
  
• Double washbasin (120 cm) with faucet and mirror, ergonomically placed and provided with solid attachments in the rear structure.
  
  
• Electric towel radiator 146.6 × 60 cm (1000 W) for comfortable warmth and quick drying of towels.

Plastering, painting & cabinet finishing

Adjoining walls—where wallpaper has been removed and with the new cabinet/infill—are plastered (26 m²), then primed and painted (26 m²) for an even base. A Level-5 finish (5 m²) has been applied to selected areas for an ultra-sleek, shadow-free appearance in ironing light.

A custom shelf + clothes rail was placed in the existing closet area (38 mm MDF with hidden wall supports) and painted in the same finish color for a calm, continuous image.

Completion

After checking watertightness, sealant seams and flow, the bathroom was delivered clean. The result: a clear, spacious bathroom setting with quiet acoustics, a rain shower as a daily ritual, and a double sink that effortlessly captures the morning rush — sleek, timeless and ready for intensive use.
